Hi! Today we’ll go over some tips to make surfing the net easier. These tips work in both Internet Explorer and Firefox!
spacebar – while you’re on a webpage, press the spacebar to get another pageful of content. You can also use the pagedown key but the spacebar is easier and a bigger target!
shift-spacebar – holding the shift key while pressing the spacebar moves the content up one screenful.
F3 – this opens the find command to allow you to search for a word on the current webpage. For pages with a lot of detailed content, this is amazing!
F5 – pressing the F5 key reloads the current page
F6 – highlights the contents of the address bar so you can enter another site to visit.
ctrl-enter – this wraps a word in the address bar with ‘http://www’ on one side and ‘.com’ on the other. So if you press F6 (highlights the address content), type ‘yahoo’, then press ctrl-enter, you’ll see http://www.yahoo.com and you’re off to the races!
