Hi. When you have an account on LinkedIn, a link to your public profile comes up when someone does a Google search on your name. Also, you might include a link to your public profile in your email signature and on your website.
You can control what appears on your LinkedIn public profile; here’s how.
Log in to your account on LinkedIn. Click ‘Settings’ at the upper right of the main screen. In the ‘Profile’ section, click ‘Public Profile’ and you’ll see the things you can control on your public profile. Here’s what it looks like:
When you’re making your selections, think about what you want others to see and keep in mind that most who’ll look at your Public Profile don’t know you. You can show your current job but not your past jobs, for example. Do you have some Group Memberships that you don’t want a business prospect to see? Hide ’em. You get the idea. You can also turn the whole thing off.
So jump into LinkedIn and make sure your Public Profile is exactly as you want it to be!
